RASI BOSTON

A Wedding to Remember

Over the summer, Nadeen El-Ansari travelled to Amman Jordan to celebrate the love between her sister and new brother-in-law.

It was held at the Marriot Resort in the Dead Sea, where family and friends from all over the world, such as Saudi, Egypt, Kuwait, Italy, and USA, flew over to attend and celebrate along with them.

Volunteering at the Boston Book Festival

Words are important, and it is a well-known fact that Boston, MA, is one of the most populous cities in the U.S. that is celebrated for its rich literary culture. World renowned authors such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Louise May Alcot, and Robert Frost, all called Boston home at some point in their lives. Moreover, the city is not only known for housing authors, publishers, and publishing houses, but  it is also the home to the third-largest public library in the United States, housing over 15 million books, earning the City Of Boston the title of the nation’s literary hub.

To maintain that title, the Boston Public Library has been hosting the non-profit Boston Book Festival for the past 16 years, making it New England’s largest literary event. This annual celebration invites authors, publishers, and keynote speakers in the industry to share their wise knowledge with the public and celebrate the power of words. The event has live music, inspirational and engaging panels, book vendors, and delicious food.

This year, the library welcomed various authors and speakers from different genres to talk about a range of topics, from romance to murder mystery, to art history, and even technological science. These speakers included but were not limited to; New York Times best-selling author Malcolm Gladwell, acclaimed literary master Louise Erdrich, and YA author Aiden Thomas.

Nadeen El-Ansari, a UCC Support Specialist from the RASI Boston Team, took time out of her Saturday to volunteer at the festival. Passionate about both reading and writing, Nadeen holds a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in creative writing, and a minor in cinema studies. She is currently furthering her education at the Harvard Extension School while working at RASi, where she aims to obtain an ALM Degree in Creative Writing and Literature.

At the festival her main role was to be the face of the event; greet the attendees, distribute the program guides, answer any of the attendee’s question to the best of her abilities, and direct the attendees to (fingers-crossed) the appropriate venues where the different sessions were held.

Even though Nadeen was unable to attend any of the sessions herself (and was mistaken for an MBTA employee), she maintained an enthusiastic demeanor and was inspired by the outcome of the event, making sure that all the guests had an exceptional experience.

Team Member Interview: Chris Johnson

Here at RASI-Boston, we treasure our teammates and the efforts and achievements that they do to make the everyday workday smoother and more fulfilling. And what better way of acknowledging our employees than knowing more about them? In today’s issue, we will be giving our hats off to one of Boston’s UCC Support Specialists.

Chris Johnson joined our team back in July of 2023 as a UCC Support Specialist. He was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, where he attended Carlisle High School in Concord and then completed his higher education at UMass Amherst, acquiring a Primary degree in political science and a Secondary degree in legal studies!

At RASi, Chris plays a big role in the Boston office where he is a part of the MA UCC Search team, also known as UCC Team 2. He conducts UCC Searches, Pacer Searches, and files MA UCC Filings with the Mass Secretary of State. Additionally, he is also apart of the SOP team where he accepts different types of service of processes ranging from subpoenas, to summons, to notices, and much more! He also handles the distribution of mail ranging from invoices to general mail for companies that have RASIi listed as their Registered Agent.

Here are a couple of interview questions that we asked Chris, to which he so graciously answered to let us know more about him!

What is one piece of advice you would give to a new hire?

I would tell any new hire to ask questions, do not be afraid to get things wrong, and take notes and be hands-on.

(As someone who was hired not too long after Chris, back in September 2023, the interviewer can concur that he (along with the rest of the Boston team) has answered any and all questions I had to the best of his abilities, no matter how foolish or redundant they were. In fact, the first questions I ever asked him, since this was my first corporate job after having a retail job, is if we had Saturday and Sunday off as weekends).

What is your favorite thing about the Boston office and why?

My favorite thing about the Boston office is its location. I was born and raised in Boston, so I love getting to work in the downtown area as I am constantly learning new things about the city.

What are the top 3 Lexitas offices that you want to visit?

I am not too familiar with the other offices we offer, but assuming we have locations in the heart of New York, Miami, or Chicago, I would likely aim for one of those offices.

What’s one thing you can’t leave the house without?

My phone, especially given how our local trains are always being delayed or cancelled in Boston.

If you had to choose one meal to eat for the rest of your life, what would that meal be?

I would likely choose Ramen or chicken and rice since there is a variety of ways it can be made.

In true fashion, we are going to end this questionnaire with the oh-so famous question: What do you see yourself doing after Lexitas, and how do you think your time here will help you get to that place?

Following my departure from Lexitas, I will be studying for the LSAT which I plan on taking in early January before applying to Law School.
